Alexandra Sweeney, DC

Dr. Alex is a native to San Antonio, but went to college at the University of Missouri (Go Tigers!), getting her bachelor’s degree in Anthropology. She has always been fascinated with how the body works and its ability to heal itself, which she believes is only enhanced through chiropractic care.

She has a soft spot in her heart for kids and looks forward to giving them their first adjustment. While she was at Logan getting her Doctorate of Chiropractic, she also gained a passion for helping pregnant women. Pregnancy can take a toll on a woman’s body and she wants to help moms-to-be have an enjoyable pregnancy. She furthered her education, in order to have a better understanding on how to help pregnant and pediatric patients, through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association’s weekend seminars and becoming Webster Certified.

She also took the chance during 2020 to take the BIRTHFIT series and is currently one of San Antonio’s only BIRTHFIT Leaders.

Pierce Sweeney, DC

Dr. Pierce has always been an athlete, so he has always had a soft spot in his heart for athletes and weekend warriors.

Since graduating, he has kept up his research and studies in evidence-based care. As he learned more about pregnancy and postpartum he saw the athleticism pregnancy, labor and delivery took and noticed that moms were essentially great athletes with supremely compromised cores once they hit postpartum. You will hear him regularly say, you basically become an Olympic weightlifter with a core that no longer exists with all of the things you need when you have baby…

In addition to being Webster Certified, using his knowledge, clinical experience, and his background in the sports medicine realm, he saw a need in this patient population for a guide on how to treat, find and perform functional exercises that are catered to each individual. He created and has successfully been implementing a technique, that he calls The BIRD Method.
